We at Aegis School of Data Science believe that technology can solve this debilitating problem affecting the country and society with this thought, Aegis has set up a Center of AI & Data Science for Social Good for solving social issues and problems using Data Science and AI.

Current projects:

• Khozo is a mobile application developed to address the issue of missing children in India. Using deep learning for face detection and recognition, Khozo helps parents and law enforcement agencies to find missing children quickly and efficiently by matching data provided by parents with the images clicked by application users to identify and reunite missing children. This project was given Govt of Goa on 1st Feb 2019. We are inviting researchers and industry for taking this project to the next level.

Apart from Khozo, our students have also worked on several other AI and Data Science projects.

• Pothole Detection and Prevention: The project objective is to use computer vision to detect potholes on Indian roads, to reduce the number of road accidents and fatalities caused by poor road conditions. In India, thousands of people die each year due to road accidents, many of which are caused by potholes. By detecting and repairing potholes quickly, this project aims to make Indian roads safer for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.
• Skills and Jobs trends analysis Developed for mUniCampus
• Job Recommendation Developed for mUniCampus
• Profile Recommender for Recruiters 
• AI Proctoring for cheat-proof examination model built by students and faculties for mUniCampus which provides online secure assessment and examination solutions.

Other real-life consulting assignments and capstone projects

As part of our Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Data Science, we encourage students to work on practical and impactful projects. Here are some examples of the projects:

• Churn Prediction for Two Large Mobile Operators with 10 Million Customers: This project aimed to develop a churn prediction model for two large mobile operators with a combined customer base of 10 million. The model used machine learning algorithms to identify customers who were likely to churn and provided insights on how to retain them.

• Big Data Infrastructure and Data Visualization for D Voice India Internet Service Provider: This project aimed to develop a big data infrastructure and data visualization platform for D Voice India, an internet service provider. The platform used Hadoop, Spark, and Tableau to store and analyze large amounts of data and provide real-time insights into network performance.

• Yoga Pose Correction Detector: This project aimed to develop an AI-based system that could detect and correct yoga poses to prevent injuries. The system used deep learning algorithms to analyze videos of yoga practitioners and provide real-time feedback to help them improve their technique.

• Auto Cricket Commentary: This project involved developing an AI-based system that could generate real-time cricket commentary. The system used natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning algorithms to analyze live cricket matches and provide automated commentary.

• Conversation Bot for Insurance Company: This project aimed to develop a chatbot for an insurance company to improve customer engagement and reduce response time. The bot used NLP and machine learning algorithms to understand customer queries and provide relevant responses.

These are just a few examples of the projects our students have worked on. At Aegis, we encourage our students to apply their data science and AI skills to solve real-world problems and make a positive impact on society.
