AI Centre of Excellence for corporates

Move from scattered AI pilots to a central engine that selects use cases, ships them to production, grows your talent and keeps the regulator satisfied. Aegis designs, builds and, where you need it, runs your AI CoE with you.

What is an AI Centre of Excellence?

An AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) is a central team and operating model that sets an organisation's AI strategy, selects and delivers use cases, builds shared platforms, develops talent and enforces governance, so AI produces measurable, repeatable business value instead of isolated pilots.

The operating model

Five pillars every AI CoE needs, and what Aegis brings to each

🎯

1. Strategy & use-case factory

A scored portfolio of use cases tied to P&L lines, a funding model, and a delivery cadence that ships something every quarter.

🎓

2. Talent & internal academy

Role-based training for leaders, analysts, engineers and domain teams; a hiring pipeline of Aegis PGP graduates and Forward Deployed Engineers.

🧱

3. Platform & engineering

Reference architectures for RAG, agents and MLOps on your cloud; an LLM gateway with cost, security and observability built in.

🛡️

4. Governance & responsible AI

Risk tiers, review gates, evaluation standards, PII and prompt-injection defences, mapped to the EU AI Act and India's DPDP Act.

📈

5. Value measurement

ROI per use case, adoption and quality metrics, and a board-level dashboard so the CoE is judged on outcomes.

Proof, not promises

Our faculty run production AI with public institutions: SaveNadi (river pollution intelligence for MPCB), Khozo (missing-child reunification with police review) and Aarakshak (sovereign identity verification). See the research →

Who it is for

Built for the people accountable for AI outcomes

CEO / CXO

You want AI on the P&L, not in the innovation lab. The CoE gives you a portfolio, owners and numbers.

CDO / CIO / Chief AI Officer

You own delivery. We bring the operating model, engineers and governance to make it repeatable.

Head of L&D / HR

You own capability. The internal academy and Assessfy reports turn training spend into measured skills.

Government & PSUs

You need sovereignty, procurement fit and public accountability. Aegis Knowledge Trust already runs AI with public bodies.

AI Centre of Excellence FAQ

What is an AI Centre of Excellence?

An AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) is a central team and operating model that sets an organisation's AI strategy, selects and delivers use cases, builds shared platforms, develops talent and enforces governance, so that AI moves from scattered pilots to measurable, repeatable business value.

What does Aegis deliver in a CoE engagement?

Depending on the model: the CoE charter and operating model, a prioritised use-case portfolio, a talent plan with an internal AI academy, platform and reference architectures, a governance framework (responsible AI, EU AI Act, India DPDP), and dashboards that track value. In CoE-as-a-service, Aegis staffs and runs the CoE with you.

How long does it take to set up an AI CoE?

A working CoE with a charter, first use cases in delivery and a trained core team takes about 90 days. Scaling across business units typically runs 6–18 months.

Who should own the AI CoE?

Usually a CDO, CIO or Chief AI Officer with a business co-sponsor. Aegis works with the sponsor to staff the core team from your people, supplemented by Aegis engineers and faculty until the team is self-sufficient.

How is this different from hiring a consulting firm?

Aegis combines three things consultancies rarely do together: training your people to run the CoE (we are a school), building production AI with them (our faculty ship real systems such as SaveNadi and Khozo), and a talent pipeline of PGP graduates and Forward Deployed Engineers to hire from.

Can Aegis help a government department or PSU set up a CoE?

Yes. Aegis Knowledge Trust runs applied AI projects with public institutions, such as SaveNadi with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, and understands procurement, data sovereignty and governance requirements in the public sector.
